Tone, shape and a certain rawness are what catch my eye in an object. I have a deep appreciation for earthy, elemental materials, especially when they reveal their inherent texture and patina. Objects with a more rugged or brutal presence hold a particular appeal for me, especially when the material becomes part of their character.
At the same time, I can be equally captivated by something entirely different: a composed material, an unexpected surface, or an unusual object whose presence simply draws me in. What matters is the way it speaks to me.
My selection is rooted primarily in Morocco and, more broadly, in Africa. I may also be drawn to something from elsewhere that crosses my path. Ultimately, it is what I see in an object and why I feel it deserves a place.
