Mohamed Lakroune

Mohamed Lakroune is a Moroccan painter whose work frequently celebrates the country’s equestrian heritage. He is particularly known for his depictions of the Tbourida (Fantasia), the traditional mounted performance that was inscribed by UNESCO in 2021 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Through dynamic scenes of galloping horsemen, Lakroune captures the spirit, discipline, and ceremonial grandeur of one of Morocco’s most enduring cultural traditions.
