Abdelmajid Elhabil Addas

Abdelmajid Elhabil Addas (born in Tangier on 1 January 1941) is a Moroccan painter whose small-scale works on paper are distinguished by highly stylised compositions, intricate mark-making and vibrant chromatic intensity.

Addas builds each composition through layers of fine, rhythmic strokes and organic forms, creating richly textured, almost textile-like surfaces. The resulting works combine a remarkable delicacy of execution with a powerful sense of movement and colour.
